When it comes to capturing the magic of Broadway's new sports drama Lombardi, Broadway.com's resident artist Justin 'Squigs' Robertson has improved on the standard football playbook drawings in which x's and o's represent players. For his latest creation, Squigs joined the Packers huddle to capture the intensity of Eric Simonson's bio-drama centering on the Green Bay coach, played by Dan Lauria. The show's entire cast (including Judith Light, Keith Nobbs, Bill Dawes, Robert Christopher Reily and Chris Sullivan) also plowed their way into Squigs' fittingly green canvas. Take a look, then head to Circle in the Square Theatre to catch Lombardi in action.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
